The organization of “Association for Adult Education” (AAE) focuses on its contribution into the development of Life Long Learning (LLL) and more particularly in the Adult Education.
Additional objectives of the Association are the following:

The Implementation of LLL in the areas of Formal and especially School Education as well as in Adult Education.

The Connection between the Formal forms of Education (schools and educational institutes) and the Informal and Non-formal Systems of Education (work, family, local community, personal life).

Professional Development of Educators;

Decentralization of Education;

Systems of Administration and Organization of Education;

Exploitation of New Technologies in Education;
-
European Politic of Education, i.e. participation in the development of politics for life long learning and in European projects (Socrates, Leonardo, Grundvig etc).
The Association operated informally from 2000 and as an organized form structure till 2003. Its members have till now officiated in actions like the Second Chance Schools, the Centers for Adult Education, the consultancy of parents and the cultural programs in the Adult Education, with significant social response.
In addition to this, they have participated in all the leading European networks for the corresponding issues and they have vast experience concerning LLL policies, Adult Education and the employment. Indicatively it is mentioned their participation in European actions like the Learning Regions (project R3L), POLE (Policy Observatory for Lifelong Learning and Employability) and corresponding actions of the Pedagogical Institute of Greece, like the research for quality in education. It is noted that the related studies have been presented in the Conference of the European Union (EE), the Organization for the Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA). In addition to this, in the context of the AAE activities, there have been organized supportive networks in regions like Korthi (Andros), South Attica etc.
Currently, the re-designing of educational systems is a reality that concerns everyone, since we are moving from close to open systems of education, from the monopoly of education to defined institutions, spaces and times in the cooperative - distributed production of knowledge.
In this procedure, the AAE wants to contribute in all means. For this reason AAE will pursuit the cooperation with everyone who is interested in and will contribute into the production of relevant documents, publications, networks with other organizations and agents who have the same orientation.
