The first meeting of the Hellenic Network: “Valuing Education and Experience of Local Councilors (VA2L)” was realized on Tuesday 14th of July in the Office of the Institution of Local Authories (ITA). Participants were representatives of ITA, the National School of Local Authorities (ESTA), the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (EETAA), POLISNET and AAE.

During the meeting and the fruitful discussions, it was agreed that the following activities will take place in the short coming period:

• Each of the networks has to nominate representatives for the National Working Group. Representatives are not fixed in a strict manner but the group may be open for new interested persons to participate. Representatives were nominated afterwards by the partner organization.
• ITA has the base-bank of all the local counsillors in Greece. This will be used for the selection and communication with the 300 recipients according to VA2EL guidelines.
• More over it was discussed that the Project may be presented in training activities, publications, seminars, conferences etc organized by the participants.
