Spreading information about adult education from the countries of Europe and EU institutions is the aim and objective of the unique English service “European InfoNet Adult Education”, which has been developed as part of an EU project and is now available for all those interested.

Around 25 correspondents all across Europe – journalists from specialist magazines and other experts – create articles for InfoNet in accordance with certain quality criteria; these are freely available in an online database. Furthermore, InfoNet sends out a free, four-page information service e-mail newsletter every two months, with one main topic; this is linked to the database. Some of the most important articles and abridged versions can be found in the newsletter. Sample topics are “financing” or “science”. Following a development and trial phase, the service is now open to everyone who is interested. The articles can also be redistributed in other media, with a corresponding note. In charge of the project is the Catholic Federal Association for Adult Education (KBE) in Germany; InfoNet is a project in the frame of the EU-programme Lifelong Learning/Grundtvig implemented by the Akademie Klausenhof, from which it receives editorial support. In the InfoNet network, around 30 (umbrella) organisations are interlinked on a European scale and their respective national scales.
